February meeting notes – MBS open movie project

Meeting 28th February 2013

– Alex Fraser showed progress on Cargo, a cool BGE game that is nearing completion.

– Andrew Buttery showed his personal work in progress short film. Much discussion about how to make the animation better and removing noise from the cycles renders. A couple of stills are attached.

– Due to small turnout, Craig cancelled the materials tutorial. We have had small turnouts for the last three meetings – is it the uni holidays? Haven’t been receiving emails? Relying on a Blender Nation post? Let us know!

– Discussion was started about MBS undertaking an open movie style project. Those who attended thought it would be a good idea as it would give the opportunity for students and other people learning Blender to learn different aspects of the application, apply their skills and have the experience of working in a team environment (important experience for those looking to go into industry).

Yes! Love the idea of a local open movie project. Let’s do it. 🙂

Sorry I’ve missed the past couple of MBS meets, but I’ve had schedule conflicts both times. Look forward to the next one!

Hi I have just downloaded this software. I would love for someone to spend a few hours with me, getting me started, showing me how to use it. Happy to pay for it if it’s reasonably priced. I’m based in Melbourne.
